Trident Lakes In Fannin County: An Enclave For 'Preppers'

Texas State Historical Association

A subterranean enclave for "preppers," people who are preparing for an apocalyptical disaster, is being developed in Fannin County, between Ector and Savoy.  The Trident Lakes project being built by a Dallas developer is estimated to cost $320 million and would have 500 underground luxury residences.  The latest news on the project is the announcement of a golf facility called "Course of the Gods."  Bonham Mayor Roy Floyd discusses what he knows about the project in this edition of the Blacklands Cafe, along with improvements at Lake Bonham, and the status of the Lower Bois D'Arc Creek and Lake Ralph Hall projects.

John Mark Dempsey is the host of the public interest program The Blacklands Café from KETR News. Dempsey is also the play-by-play announcer for Commerce Tigers Football on 88.9 FM and on ketr.org.
