The Texas Department of Transportation will be starting two major road restructuring projects in Northeast Texas in the first two weeks of the year.
Improvements to a portion of State Highway 11 in Hopkins County will begin on Monday, Jan. 2. The $55 million resurfacing project will run along Highway 11 from a mile south of the Hopkins county line to FM 2653.
Improvements to State Highway 78 in Fannin County will begin a week later, on Jan. 9. The $2.6 million project to upgrade guardrails and safety factors including road sloping will occur between the Fannin-Collin County line and about a half mile south of State Highway 56. Both projects are expected to be completed by November.
