U Of Faith Uplifts A&M-C Football Schedule

Texas A&M University-Commerce

Texas A&M University-Commerce athletic director Tim McMurray says the University of Faith, a Christian school from St. Petersburg, Florida, will substitute for North Alabama in the Thursday, September 1 season-opening football game at Memorial Stadium.  North Alabama asked to defer the two-game series with A&M-Commerce, when they were given the opportunity to play FCS member Jacksonville State (which had lost a game vs. Auburn), and Faith, a non-scholarship program, was available to play the game.  Tim also discusses the Thrower Academic Center, a facility at the north end of the Field House where A&M-C athletes are able to focus on their studies.  He says A&M-C athletes posted a 3.08 cumulative GPA in 2015-16.

John Mark Dempsey is the host of the public interest program The Blacklands Café from KETR News. Dempsey is also the play-by-play announcer for Commerce Tigers Football on 88.9 FM and on ketr.org.
