University set to welcome hundreds to campus

COMMERCE - Prospective students and their families are invited to the bi-annual Mane Event Preview Day at Texas A&M University-Commerce, scheduled for this Saturday.

Activities run from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. across campus, and feature programs and activities designed to familiarize future students with the university.

The day will include general information sessions on admissions, financial aid and residence life, a chance to meet faculty and students, academic sessions to preview college major interests, student organization showcases, campus tours and more. Admission is free and also includes a free lunch.

“This is a must-attend event for students who want to learn more about A&M-Commerce,” said Stephanie Holley, dean of enrollment and retention. “In addition to having tons of fun, participating in scholarship drawings and getting free stuff, they will receive information on all aspects of the university and answers to all of their questions on how to pay for school, what degree programs are available, how to get involved on campus, etc.”

The event typically entertains some 1,000 visitors.
