UPDATE: Arrest Made in Connection with Commerce Stabbing Death

UPDATE 11/29/12, 1:22pm - 20-year-old Myeisha Simone Garcia of Commerce is the suspect arrested by CPD and the Texas Rangers for the murder of 20-year-old Jamal Stanton of Greenville.

COMMERCE - The Commerce Police Department and the Texas Rangers report to have made an arrest in the early-morning homicide of Jamal Stanton of Greenville, which followed an altercation in the cul-de-sac on Wheeler Drive in Commerce.

At the time of the release, the suspect was being held at Commerce PD pending transport to Hunt County Law Enforcement Center. The suspect's name is being withheld until arraignment.

Twenty-year-old Jamal Stanton died at the Hunt Regional Community Hospital in Commerce this morning, the result of an apparent stabbing which occurred near the Tarter Apartments.
