12.5 volunteers. 3 chainsaws. 5 trimmers. 4 trailer loads of trees and two cases of poison ivy. According to volunteer Jennifer Dwyer there were 12 and half volunteers helping on Saturday morning at Simmons Cemetery's clean-up in Ben Franklin, Texas. The half was Dwyer’s lovely three-year old grandson, who also help with tree trimming.
Those Zogail, Mae, Jennifer, Aly, Evan, Kevin, Bonnie, Tom, Paul, Joe, Tim, Ron, and Dominic were among the list of help.
“New friends were made, and it was a great start!” said Jennifer Dwyer on the clean-up efforts at the Simmons Cemetery. She hopes to complete the necessary documents to establish a historical marker for Simmons Cemetery, just like Giles Cemetery is receiving.
She noted they still have a long way to go on the clean-up effort but this made a huge improvement. She has posted many photos on their Simmons Cemetery of Delta County, Texas Facebook page.
