Water Improvements Coming for Emory, Honey Grove

AUSTIN - The Texas Water Development Board more has approved more than $1.7 million in water infrastructure improvements for parts of Rains and Fannin counties.

During a Wednesday meeting, officials agreed to provide $1.4 million to the City of Emory. About half of that money accounts for a loan, while the other half is loan forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to finance water system improvements.

Just over $280,000 will be issued to the City of Honey Grove, which officials say they’ll use to rehabilitate several aging and undersized lines that do not currently meet capacity and pressure requirements.  Part of the funding for Honey Grove will also go toward new water line installation.
