Sharon Feldt of Sulphur Springs, our books commentator, says prolific Winnsboro author Maryann Miller recently released a non-fiction book, "The Many Faces of Grief: Stories of Love and Loss From the Hospital."  She served as a volunteer grief counselor in support of her late husband, a retired Catholic priest, who served as a hospital chaplain.  Maryann has also released a new crime novel, "Desperate Season," telling the story of fictional female Dallas police detectives.  It is the third in a series of "Seasons" novels.

Sharon also says the Silver Leos writers' group at Texas A&M-Commerce will meet again at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 14.  They have not met since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.  If you'd like to attend, contact Sharon at: abcsharon@aol.com.

John Mark Dempsey is the host of the public interest program The Blacklands Café from KETR News. Dempsey is also the play-by-play announcer for Commerce Tigers Football on 88.9 FM and on ketr.org.
