Commerce Mayor Wyman Williams says the City Council received a report this week from Atmos Energy on the replacement of metal natural gas lines with more durable heavy plastic lines. The replacement of the lines will take several years, the mayor says.  Also, Mayor Williams says the City Council deadlocked on a proposal for adopting a digital system for assessing the city's streets, and so that proposal will not go forward as of now.

Atmos Energy would like citizens in Delta County to be aware crews will oversee a controlled release of natural gas on Tuesday, Aug. 4, beginning at 7 a.m. The work will occur at Atmos Energy’s Enloe measuring station southwest of the Enloe community. The work should be completed by 7 p.m. that evening.
