Paul Voss, Commerce Chamber of Commerce manager, says Hunt County has purchased the building to the east of the Chamber office on Main Street in downtown Commerce.  Renovation of the building is underway and it soon serve as the office for the Justice of the Peace Kerry Crews and Constable Wayne "Doc" Pierce.  Also, Paul says a number of Commerce businesses have now received checks from the federal government to help offset the closings caused by the coronavirus.

In a recent Delta County Commissioners Court, the inkind donation of $500 from Interstate Mechanic Shop owner Chuck Sickles to vehicle repair for the Delta County Constable's car was unanimously accepted. Constable Marshall Lynch graciously accepted the offer on Monday, Dec. 11, 2017 from the newly expanded establishment in Cooper.

Delta County citizens came out for the Constable race run-off election held Tuesday putting a new face behind the badge after seven years with Marshall Lynch.

The early voting numbers showed a considerable lead with 73 percent for Lynch as he faced incumbent Ben Snow.

Pecan Gap resident and Delta County Deputy Marshall Lynch has formally announced his candidacy for the office of Delta County Constable. He has spent the last three years in law enforcement – one year as a peace officer and two years prior as the jailer/dispatcher for Delta County.

Deputy Lynch volunteers his time with the Pecan Gap Volunteer Fire Department and assists the area fire fighters.
