Commerce Mayor-Pro Tem Gene Lockhart and City Manager Darrek Farrell say the council hopes to create an "enterprise zone" that would allow the city collect all of the local taxes from a new hotel or motel.   They say State Representative Dan Flynn has agreed to sponsor legislation that would enable the enterprise zone. Otherwise, the city is acquiring new body cameras for members of the police department.
