Dr. Graham Sweeney, the chairman of the Hunt County Days group going to Austin to meet with state legislators Tuesday and Wednesday, says public education is one of the major topics for discussion.  Dr. Sweeney says one prominent topic will be the bill Commerce ISD superintendent Blake Cooper has developed with State Rep. Dan Flynn that would let home-schooled students take certain courses at public high schools.  However, Dr.

Commerce Chamber of Commerce manager Paul Voss is presenting the transportation concerns of the county to state legislative leaders in Austin as part of "Hunt County Days" March 3-4.  Leaders from the county will travel to the state capital to meet with legislators and others.  Voss says one particular concern is the growing traffic on Interstate 30.

Six Republican races today will go a long way toward determining who will represent Northeast Texas in Austin in 2019.

Dr. Graham Sweeney, the superintendent of the Boles ISD and chairman of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs committee, says "Hunt County Days" March 3-4 will send a busload of county leaders and others to Austin.  There they will meet with state legislative leaders on issues of concern to the county.  Reservations can be made for the trip.
