Pud Kearns with Housewarmers of Greenville, and one of the leaders of the annual Bras for the Cause event, says the organization recently announced its 2019 theme -- "Brallywood" -- at a "Table Talk" event at the Texan Theater in Greenville. Pud says Bras for the Cause -- which supports treatment of cancer victims at Hunt Regional Medical Center -- is within reach of the $1 million mark in donations raised.

Pud Kearns, a leader of the women's cancer fund raising event Bras for the Cause, says this is the organization's 10th anniversary.  The event, with the theme "Bras Rock," takes place starting at 6 p.m. Thursday night (Oct. 11).  Money is raised from votes for the most popular artistically and humorously decorated bras.

Pud Kearns of Housewarmers of Greenville, and one of the "Big Boobs" who are the leaders of the annual Bras for the Cause event, says the theme of this year's event is "Lifter Upper." Bras for the Cause is committing to fund a $500,000 4-D CT scanner for the Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville that would provide extremely precise cross-section images used in diagnosing all forms of cancer.

A recent survey shows the state of Texas close to the national average in a measurement of preparedness for responding to an emergency.  Kim Saenz, the director of the Hunt Regional Emergency Centers in Commerce and Quinlan, says they recently conducted a drill to prepare for a possible disaster in the area.
