Penny Stark, organizer of the Freedom Folk Music Festival at the Texan Theater in downtown Greenville at 2 p.m. Saturday (March 14).  Among the performers is Hannah Kirby of Sulphur Springs, who gained a great deal of fame from a successful run on the NBC television program, "The Voice."  KETR's Matt Meinke, the host of "Notably Texan," will be the master of ceremonies.

Sulphur Springs, Texas native, and 2015 contestant on NBC's "The Voice," Hannah Kirby spoke with Matt Meinke during her experience on the popular TV talent show. Hannah went on to finish in the top 8 performers of the season.

Each year, the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters conducts a professionally-judged competition to evaluate stations who subscribe to AP services on a number of different facets of news and information broadcasting. This year, KETR comes away with five first-place awards, four second-place awards, and two honorable mentions.

BONHAM - Entries are sought for the 3rd Annual Ruby Allmond Songwriting Contest in Bonham, to be submitted by July 1. The top 10 finalists will be selected to perform live on August 4.
