Commerce Chamber of Commerce manager Paul Voss says Adventures in Printing, owned and operated by Marie Humphries, will relocate in the former Eddie Moore TV building in downtown Commerce.  Paul says the interior of the building will be restored to its original style.  Paul says the announcement of the KLZ Stone Group manufacturing facility coming to Commerce, providing jobs for up to 50 people, is terrific news.  The Northeast Texas Children's Museum will hold a silent auction from 6-8 p.m.

Commerce Chamber of Commerce manager Paul Voss says new members have joined the Chamber Board of Directors, and Velvete Womack has been elected the new chamber president.  Paul says the Chamber's website received 20,000 hits over the holidays, many from businesses around the country looking to relocate to Northeast Texas.  The website now features 174 photos from last fall's Bois D'Arc Bash, and photos from future events will also be made available.  The chamber's annual banquet is set for Thursday, March 3.

Commerce Chamber of Commerce manager Paul Voss says, after many delays, the chamber is ready to install three LED message signs at strategic locations around the city.  The chamber raised more than $80,000 for the signs, which Voss says will help to keep citizens of Commerce much better informed about emergencies and regular events taking place in the city.

Commerce Chamber of Commerce manager Paul Voss says the theme of the Bois D'Arc Christmas Celebration in Commerce Saturday is "A Gingerbread Christmas."  The event begins at 2 p.m. on the downtown square and includes live music, vendors, Santa photos, children's movies and the annual Christmas parade at 7 p.m.

Commerce Chamber of Commerce manager Paul Voss says the city of Commerce should enforce codes on vacant downtown buildings.  Voss recently spoke to the City Council about the issue, and will go before the council again soon to discuss the situation.  He says, as an example, he was nearly hit in the head by a falling brick from a vacant building recently.

Commerce Chamber of Commerce manager Paul Voss says National Night Out will be observed in front of the Commerce Police Department headquarters from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight (Tuesday, October 6) and on the Texas A&M University-Commerce campus.  The event allows citizens to meet members of the police department and for neighbors to meet each other.

Paul Voss, the manager of the Commerce Chamber of Commerce, says the 30th annual Bois D'Arc Bash in Commerce may be the biggest yet, with Hannah Kirby, star of "The Voice," scheduled to appear on Saturday night, September 26 on the square.  Paul says the Bash -- which celebrates the native bois d'arc tree -- was the brainchild of ET English professor Dr. Fred Tarpley, along with Jim Conrad, Jerry Lytle and Rick Vanderpool.

Commerce Chamber of Commerce manager Paul Voss discusses the Commerce Police Department's CHAOS Kids summer program, in which children perform community service projects in the community.  About 35-40 children and young teens are refinishing park benches in downtown Commerce, and also helped to clean debris from the Fourth of July fireworks show that settled at the Oak Manor Nursing Home.

Commerce Chamber of Commerce manager Paul Voss says Hannah Kirby of Sulphur Springs, who gained fame on the NBC television program "The Voice," will headline the annual Bois d' Arc Bash.  She'll perform on the downtown square Saturday night, September 26.  Paul says Polara Industries, a new local manufacturing company, is taking applications for employment at the Texas Workforce Commission office in Greenville.

Commerce Chamber of Commerce manager Paul Voss discusses the opening of the new Hunt Regional Emergency Medical Center in Commerce.  An open house is planned for Sunday afternoon, and the facility on Highway 24 near the southern city limits of Commerce will be open for business on Monday.  Paul also discusses plans for a new amphitheater in downtown Commerce, near the current Farmers Market on Bonham Alley.

Commerce Chamber of Commerce manager Paul Voss is presenting the transportation concerns of the county to state legislative leaders in Austin as part of "Hunt County Days" March 3-4.  Leaders from the county will travel to the state capital to meet with legislators and others.  Voss says one particular concern is the growing traffic on Interstate 30.
