Former Hunt County Jail employee taken into custody for theft

Greenville – A Sulphur Springs woman was taken into custody Monday in connection with a felony theft indictment at the Hunt County Jail. According to the Greenville Herald Banner, 37 year old Clarice Evelyn Sells is a former employee at the jail, and turned herself in to the Sheriff's office on one count of theft more than $1,500 but less than $20,000. The Hunt County jail has had a series of shortages, with a recent $4,000 shortage bringing the total amount of money unaccounted for to about $22,000.
