Woman leads Paris police on chase

By Kevin Jefferies

Paris, Texas – A Paris woman was arrested Sunday after leading police on a chase and crashing her vehicle into a light pole. Officers were responding to a burglary-in-progress in the 1700 block of North Main when they spotted 34 year old Sheri Hawthorn heading south in a dark Ford minivan. When police attempted to stop the vehicle, the van turned and led police through several turns and streets before crossing four lanes of traffic on Clement Road and hitting a light pole.

After the collision, Hawthorn fell from the driver's seat with blood on her face, shirt, and hands. She was treated at the scene and taken into custody by Paris Police. Hawthorn is charged with burglary and evading arrest.
