Murder trial to begin Monday

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – A murder trial is scheduled to begin this week in Hunt County. Gerald Wayne Johnson, the only suspect formally indicted by a grand jury in connection with Carlton Collier's murder on July 1, 2007 is set to go to trial Monday. Johnson has pleaded not guilty to the charge and also to an unrelated count of selling cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school building. Investigators have said that on the night of the murder, Collier might have just been caught in a crossfire, as multiple gunshots were reportedly fired from two different locations.
