Local courthouses awarded funding

– The Franklin County courthouse has been awarded a planning grant worth more than $2 million from the State Historical Society. The money will be used for exterior construction on the courthouse.

Just over $277,000 went to Hopkins County in an emergency grant to repair leaks in the entrance of the Courthouse. The county is also hoping to receive a grant in the next round of funding to replace the entire roof of the facility.

Upshur County got #285,000 for exterior construction on its courthouse.
