By Brad Kellar

Greenville – A Quinlan man has pleaded guilty to organized crime in connection to a gambling establishment.

Jerry Wade Giles entered the plea Wednesday.

Under a plea bargain arraignment, Giles was placed on two years of probation, fined $1,000 and ordered to 40 hours of community service. He was also ordered to forfeit almost $46,000 in proceeds gained from gambling machines seized by the Hunt County Sheriff's Office, and to cooperate with officials in the investigation and/or prosecution of illegal gambling in the county.

Giles was said to have operated a gambling place on East Quinlan Parkway, which was among several locations raided by the Sheriff's office in June 2009.
