New stadium brings more events, business

By Scott Harvey

Paris – The new Wildcat Stadium at Paris High School is already proving its worth, serving as a venue for a variety of events and bringing business to the community.

Up next is the Kings Classic, to be played Thursday and Friday, featuring soccer teams throughout the State. Last summer, crews completed a number of district improvements, which included a $37 million high school and a $6 million football stadium.

Last fall, significant improvements were also made at Memorial Stadium on the campus of Texas A&M University-Commerce, where a 55-by-31 foot scoreboard was installed and 3,000 seats were added the stadium's east side. The upgrades have brought more business to the City, by way of high school football playoff games.
