Annual Chamber Banquet set for Thursday

Commerce – The Commerce Chamber of Commerce will put the "Spotlight on Service" during its 102nd Annual Chamber Banquet set for Thursday evening.

As part of the evening's theme, the Chamber will highlight the various service organizations and volunteer efforts throughout the community.

J.C. Hughes Jr. will serve as the featured speaker. Hughes is a motivational speaker whose words will focus on the importance of volunteerism, community events and economic development. He currently serves as public works director for the City of Marshall, Texas and volunteers in a number of organizations.

Miss Hunt County and Miss Hunt County Outstanding Teen will also perform.

A total of nine awards will be handed out, including the Citizen of the Year, Distinguished Community Service and Golden Service awards. Katie London with KETR Radio will emcee the event.

Thursday's event takes place in the Sam Rayburn Student Center on the Texas A&M University-Commerce campus. Tickets information is available by calling the Chamber office at 903-886-3950.
