Rockwall – A Texas A&M University-Commerce student is found dead as authorities attempt to issue a warrant for his arrest.
Autopsy results are pending for Christopher John Torti, of Commerce, whose body was found near Lake Ray Hubbard on Tuesday.
The former student teacher at Greenville High School had been charged with engaging in a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student at the high school last spring. Torti had been free on bond, but a new arrest warrant was issued after allegations surfaced he had inappropriately contacted the child victim.
Few details were released concerning Torti's death. He was enrolled at A&M-Commerce as of last fall.
