Search for chase suspect enters second day

By Scott Harvey

Hopkins County – The search continued Thursday morning in Hopkins County for a woman who fled the scene following a high speed chase early yesterday morning.

The chase ended near the Dike/Flora communities when the suspect driver lost control of the vehicle and overturned. He was arrested for burglary of a habitation and evading arrest with a vehicle. His name had not been released at last report.

The individual who fled is being described as a white female, 19-20 years of age, with blonde hair and a thin build. Authorities say she may have broken into a house in the area shortly after fleeing and spent the night there. There is also the possibility she took some clothing from the home.

Several deputies and a DPS helicopter were reported to have been involved in the search.
