STEVE INSKEEP, Host:

Good morning. I'm Steve Inskeep.

It's only September, but Indianapolis is already preparing for the Super Bowl. Two thousand volunteers showed up for training recently. When the Super Bowl comes to my home state early next year, they will greet fans at the airport or give directions on the streets. So far the only problem is with the local team, whose odds of reaching the Super Bowl are receding. The Indianapolis Colts are 0-2 and without their star quarterback due to injury. But I'm not bitter. It's MORNING EDITION. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
