RENEE MONTAGNE, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Renee Montagne.

Move over Amber Miller. The Chicago woman made headlines when she ran a marathon 39 weeks pregnant and gave birth just hours later. Now a week later, a centenarian has stolen the spotlight. Fauja Singh became the oldest person ever to complete a marathon, which he did yesterday in Toronto at the age of 100. He said he was overjoyed at finishing in just over eight hours. It was his eighth marathon. He ran his first at 89. It's MORNING EDITION. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
