Greenville man to serve four years behind bars

GREENVILLE - A local man has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to carrying a firearm on New Year’s Eve.

Richard Allen Anderson, of Greenville, was alleged to have broken into a residence along Clark Street on December 31, 2010 and used a firearm to threaten the life of a female family member. He was ordered to four years behind bars for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

Remaining charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and burglary of a habitation were dismissed.
