Fisher to serve two years for assaulting officers

GREENVILLE - A local man has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to attacking law enforcement officers last spring. 

Bobby Dean Fisher, of Commerce, is alleged to have assaulted a Texas A&M University-Commerce Police Officer in May 2011, as well as allow his blood and/or saliva to come into contact with the skin of a Commerce Police Officer.

The assault and harassment of a public servant charges earned Fisher two years in prison and he was fined $500 on each count.
