SULPHUR SPRINGS - Minor demolition and cleanup continues on the old Sulphur Springs Library ahead of an April date to begin construction for the new city offices.
City Manager Marc Maxwell recently informed council that asbestos and lead-based paint has been removed from the interior of the old facility. The exterior paint will not be removed until the construction project is ready to begin.
In the meantime, crews are planning to remove the mezzanine and perform some demolition in preparation for site work.
