In the City of Cooper’s regular monthly meeting last Monday, approval was given to set the date of the City election for three council positions for May 10, 2014.
Council members David Phillips, Joann Preas and Willie “Bear” Wilkins are up for re-election and all three incumbents have filed for re-election. They are unopposed at this time.
The first day to file for a place on the City Council Election Ballot was January 29, 2014 and interested persons have until 5:00 p.m. February 28, 2014 to file.
