Cooper Elementary has started a “Coats for Kids” drive and hope to collect new or gently used jackets and coats in various sizes before the cold temperatures of East Texas arrive.

“’Warming kids – one heart at a time’ is the theme for this year’s coat drive,” said Jeanette Burnett, Campus Counselor at Cooper Elementary. “This is first time we have reached out into the community for contributions.”

They are hoping to collect children’s sizes 6-14 and small adult sizes too.

“We just want to make sure all the youth of our community are cared for,” said Burnett, proud to be a part of Cooper ISD.

The donations may be dropped off at the Cooper Elementary campus or for more information feel free to contact Burnett at 903-395-2111 Ext. 3852.
