Northeast Texas and the JAMA Life Expectancy Map

On Monday, NPR looked into the lifespan gapthat, according to the Journal of the American Medical Association, shows residents of some US counties live as much as 20 years longer on average than residents of others.

JAMA’s interactive map shows that residents of counties in Northeast Texas like Fannin, Hunt, and Lamar can expect to live between 74 and 78 years, on average. Residents of Collin County can expect to live to between 81 and 84. The results reflect data through 2014.
