Commerce – Some final honors come in for A&M-Commerce basketball. Head coach Sam Walker has been named National Association of Basketball Coaches Division 2 South Central Region Coach of the Year. Walker led the Lions to a 28-5 record, a Lone Star Conference Championship, and a number 5 ranking nationally in the final poll of the season.
Junior Jermart Miller, who led the Lions in scoring with 17 points a game, was named to the NABC South Central Region first team, while picking up LSC South Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year awards along the way.
