Lions win LSC Title!

Commerce – The Lions are Lone Star Conference Champions. The women's team hosted the Lone Star Conference Tournament over the weekend. Friday, they faced Angelo State. Led by Sophomore Britney Jordan, the Lions took the win 65-59, with a late boost by Senior Kanani Marshall who sunk back-to-back three-pointers in the waning minutes of the game.

Then the Lions faced West Texas A&M Saturday in the LSC Championship game. The Lions led the entire game and took their first ever LSC Championship with an 81-71 victory, once again led by Britney Jordan who notched 29 points in the contest.

Now the women are heading to the NCAA Tournament as the No. 4 seed. They face the #5 seed Emporia State Friday. West Texas A&M, who the Lions handled in the LSC Championship game, enters the tournament as the #2 seed. Games will be hosted on the Missouri Western State University campus in St. Joseph, Mo..
