A&M-Commerce athletics update

By Bill Oliver

Commerce, TX –

Another successful weekend took place from the track and field teams at Texas A&M University-Commerce. The Lions had five event winners during relays competition at Angelo State. They were Sunny Henderson in the javelin, Herron Love in the 100-meter dash, Robert Reed in the 1,500-meter run, Tyler Tyndell in the 5,000-meter run, and Lyndon Wyse in the triple jump. A second-place performance for Dean Laing in the decathlon was strong enough to earn him a provisional qualification for the NCAA championships later this season.

And the Lone Star Conference has recognized two student trainers at A&M-Commerce. John Hill and Jerica Coleman were given the conference athletic training student academic award for excelling in the classroom while assisting with the athletic department.
