Wolfe City – A Commerce man is killed and another man charged in a Sunday morning hit-and-run near Wolfe City.
Rufino Perez Jimeniz was reportedly struck by a vehicle while walking along State Highway 11. Jimeniz was pronounced dead at the scene.
Commerce Police would later stop and arrest Pieter Mellena, of Mt. Vernon, for failing to stop and render aid for allegedly leaving the scene. He's since been released on bond.
