Suspects sought in theft ring at local Wal-Marts

By Scott Harvey

Commerce – An investigation into a theft at the Commerce Wal-Mart finds an organized crime operation targeting stores throughout the region and resulting in thousands in losses.

A report from the Commerce Police Department indicates three subjects escaped with over $16,000 worth of electronics on June 30. Tentative identification of the trio has been made based on surveillance video and investigators are working with the other agencies to bring charges against the thieves.

Wal-Mart security has estimated that these three and additional suspects have been responsible for over $200,00 dollar in losses to Wal-Mart as well as other type retail stores in Texas and Oklahoma.

The joint efforts of the involved agencies are working for State and Federal charges against the subjects for Organized Crime.
