In memory of A&M-Commerce President Dr. Dan Jones, who passed away April 29th last year, Notably Texan visited with Jones family friend and former college schoolmate Dr. Michael Groth who recalled memorable times and some of Dan's favorite music.

Groth, a native of Germany, met Jones in the late 1970's while the two were pursuing doctorate degrees at the University of Iowa, and they continued their friendship throughout Dan's life. Music was a persistent thread through their friendship, as Dr. Groth recalled during a recent chat with Matt in the KETR Studios.

A memorial garden for Dan Jones is planned near the forthcoming Nursing and Health Sciences Building at A&M-Commerce.

Notably Texan airs weekdays from 11am to 2pm on KETR.
