Wal-Mart Shoplifter Charged with Theft and Assault

Shoplifter caught.

Isaiah Dominique Hearne is being held in lieu of a total of fifteen thousand dollars bond in the Hunt County jail on a charge of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.

Judge Richard A. Beacon scheduled another hearing for Tuesday morning in order to consider Hearne’s bond.  A complaint filed by the Commerce Police Department indicates officers responded to a call of a shoplifter at Wal-Mart on the afternoon of December 14th.  A store employee reported the suspect had made off with a thirty pack of beer and fled on foot.  Hearne, who matched the description of the suspect, was detained by another officer a short time later and the beer was recovered.  Hearne was booked into the city jail on a misdemeanor charge of theft.

Later in the evening, officers responded to Hearne’s cell after a fight had broken out.  They allegedly found Hearne hitting a 43 year old man who was also occupying the cell repeatedly.  Even after the victim had fallen to the floor of the cell and was motionless.
