On a second attempt Delta County accepted an agreement with the local Red Cross to provide a shelter, in situations deemed necessary by Emergency Management authorities.

“I think it is a good deal,” said Delta County Emergency Management Coordinator Monty Hobbs. “Normally the first 72 hours [after an emergency] are on you, but now we will have the Red Cross on the first day if we need them.” This agreement was at no cost to the County. They also made agreements with Cooper ISD and First Baptist Church of Cooper.

Hobbs said if necessary the Delta County Civic Center can house nearly 400 citizens as well as having 200 cots and blankets.

The Commissioners tabled the line item involving the County ordinances for sale of alcohol with some confusion on the wording in the sample provided. The County opted to meet with TABC representatives to sort out the details.

Delta County Treasurer Bonnie Hobbs presented the submission of both 2013 and 2014 audits to Conway Co. CPAs. She informed taking this action would save the County $5,000.

Judge Murray advised the Court he was going to work with the Inmate Work Program to repair the east side steps.
