Texas Jobs Picture Good, But Concern Over Quality Of Jobs; Oil Price Plunge Boosts Restaurants

Texas A&M University-Commerce economics professor Dr. Dale Funderburk reflects on recent reports showing the Texas economy continues to do well, with relatively low unemployment, but concerns exist on the quality of many jobs, with over 60,000 high-paying oil-sector jobs lost in the past year.  And Dr. Funderburk says the boom in restaurant construction, seen in nearby Tyler and Greenville, is driven at least partly by the drop in gasoline prices, and the increase in discretionary income.
