Delta County once again invites citizens to observe the Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 5 from noon to 1 p.m. on the front lawn of the Delta County Courthouse.

Pacio Baptist Church Pastor Eugene Adams will be leading the services. He extends his appreciation in advance to those clergy from other churches who will be participating and to Delta County Judge Jason Murray for allowing the tradition to continue on the grounds of Delta County.

Pastor Adams will remind citizens of the Bible verse 2 Chronicles 7:14 that reads “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” He continued by saying, “Our nation needs divine help today and I believe that God will hear our prayers.”

The ceremony will begin with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and the singing of the National Anthem. It will also include prayers for the Nation, Nation’s Military, State of Texas, Delta County, City of Cooper and communities and Churches.
