Plane Crash Claims Two in Tyler

A private twin-engine plane crashed near Tyler Pounds Regional Airport this morning. Both the pilot and passenger died after a Piper PA-31 went down shortly after takeoff. 

As of this report, the identity of those killed have not been released. A City of Tyler official, however, did say that at least one of the two killed was local to the area.

The plane took off just after 8 a.m. and crashed shortly after in a rural area southwest of Tyler.
