Ratcliffe Was Not On Crashed Train in West Virginia

U.S. Rep. John Ratcliffe was not on the train that crashed with a garbage truck while carrying GOP lawmakers to a retreat  in West Virginia today. The congressman, who represents Texas’ 4th district announced on Twitter that he was safe and that he will pray for the injured.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out about the accident with the train carrying members to the GOP Retreat. I am safe. First responders are on the scene," Ratcliffe wrote. "Continuing prayers for those who were injured. I was not on the train."

One person died as a result of the crash, but as of Wednesday afternoon, the name has not been released.
