Commerce ISD superintendent Charlie Alderman says the State Board of Education is conducting an online survey of the public on long-term goals for the Texas public schools. Among the areas the board is interested in are educational access to funding, technology and advanced courses; and educator preparation, recruitment and retention. The survey remains open until March 2. Also, the superintendent discusses the recent UIL realignment of districts, which for football will put Commerce in a district with Bonham, Rains, Lone Oak, Howe, Pottsboro and Van Alstyne.
