Sarah Latham, Hunt County Agrilife Extension Agent, says some Texas oak trees are dying from episode of drough combined with periods of excessive rain, creating conditions that have caused outbreaks of diseases and pests. More concerning, there is apparently nothing that can be done to help the trees. Sarah also discusses permethrin-treated clothes that help to prevent tick bites, which are contributing to an increase in lyme disease.
