'Don't Mess With California.' In Defense Of Texas' Rival

Dr. Dale Funderburk, Northeast Texas economist and long-time Texas A&M-Commerce economics professor, reflects on an article by political writer Froma Harrop in which she defends California against the perception that the state is in an economic nosedive.  While agreeing that the reports of California's demise are "greatly exaggerated," Dr. Funderburk points out that the state is still facing some severe problems.
