Greenville police investigating death of 17-year-old

  • Greenville police are investigating the death of a teenager last week. A statement from the department says officers responded to a call of a deceased person in the 2100 block of Henry Street last Tuesday, Nov. 22. Officials say police found a 17-year-old white female, who was dead. No further information has been released due to the ongoing investigation. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Greenville Police Department.
  • In Wood County, a man died last week in a one-vehicle auto accident. The Texas Dept. of Public Safety says a 47-year-old Darryl Johnston of Yantis was driving on FM 514 between 8 and 8:30 last Wednesday morning (Nov. 23). Officials say Johnson’s vehicle went off the road to the right and struck a tree. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene. Road conditions were wet and rainy Wednesday morning.
  • In sports, the Texas A&M University-Commerce men’s basketball team is in Hawaii for a game against the University of Hawaii tonight. It’s the first-ever meeting between the schools. Hawaii enters the game with a record of 5-1, while the Lions are 3-4 so far. Tipoff at 11 p.m., pregame coverage beginning at 10:34 p.m. here on KETR.
