She's a ballerina, a nomad, an activist, a role model, and a regular listener to public radio. And in July 2014, 23 year old Monique Evans was crowned Miss Texas.

On a day that saw the pageant title holder attend and speak at 6 separate events in Northeast Texas, Evans found a few moments to sit down with KETR General Manager Jerrod Knight to explain what life is like for Miss Texas. The conversation aired during the May 1st broadcast of Notably Texan.
