Historical drug bust in Cumby

By Kevin Jefferies

Cumby – A huge drug bust was made in Cumby early yesterday morning. Cumby Police Officer Charlie Walker pulled over a 42 year old man that was formerly a prison guard in Massachusetts. Walker became suspicious when the man gave conflicting accounts of his travel plans and seemed to have too much luggage for the travel he described. A vehicle search turned up 25 pounds of cocaine, with an estimated street value of $3.5 million.

The bust is the largest in Cumby history. The man faces first degree felony drug charges.
